Value Chain

Operating Facilities Across Key Locations

Locations
Amar Seafood operates five strategically located facilities across Canada, Scotland, and Norway, each selected for the unique possibilities they offer. These locations provide access to hydropower, established infrastructure, and pristine seawater, all of which contribute to a robust value chain. This setup is designed to support both the growth of production and the expansion of our facilities for both land-based and sea-based aquaculture.
PEI, Canada
+
At our Prince Edward Island facility in Canada, we operate a land-based aquaculture site breeding both Atlantic Halibut and Spotted Wolffish from our own broodstock. The facility benefits from access to deep saltwater wells, allowing us to deliver high-quality HOG fish directly to market. With 5,000 acres of farmland available for land-based aquaculture, this site offers ample room for future expansion.
Frøya, Norway
+
In Frøya, Norway, we hold an approved license for sea cage production, with another site application filed for 2024. Krutøya also serves as an R&D facility for Amar Seafood, focusing on expanding sea cage production of whitefish
Otter Ferry, Scotland
+
Otter Ferry, Scotland, is a newly added location in our operation, offering both land-based and sea-based breeding of Atlantic Halibut. Delivering HOG directly to market.

Newfoundland, Canada
+
On the island of Newfoundland, Canada, we have a land-based aquaculture operation underway in Marystown . The existing infrastructure is well-suited for large-scale operations, and in the coming years we are expanding with new production facilities for breeding both Atlantic Halibut and Spotted Wolffish.
Judaberg, Norway
+
At our Judaberg facilities on Norway's west coast, we maintain a broodstock of Spotted Wolffish. Much of our work here is focused on research and development (R&D), and Amar Seafood is part of a collaborative R&D network within Norway's wolffish breeding industry.
Sustainable

Choosing renewable power sources and accessing seawater from deep saltwater wells, combined with proximity to key markets, are essential factors that contribute to a more viable aquaculture operation.

Opportunities

All of our current and upcoming facilities are designed with potential for future expansion. One of the key advantages of land-based aquaculture is the ease of scaling operations. With a thriving broodstock of Spotted Wolffish and Atlantic Halibut, we are well-positioned to boost production as needed.

Amar Seafood operates land-based facilities in every country where we are active. The size and flexibility of our properties further enable us to seamlessly scale up production in line with our mission.

Distribution

Our facilities in Canada present a significant opportunity for the North American market to procure fresh fish through shorter, more efficient distribution routes. By minimizing transportation distances, we can ensure that our seafood reaches customers faster and with optimal freshness, while also reducing our environmental impact. This strategic advantage allows us to deliver high-quality products to meet the growing demand across the region.
